Continental road attacks
« on: November 18, 2006, 04:26:13 PM »
These tyres are pretty good in the dry, you can get kd..

but in the wet they are absolute balls. If you lean it a bit the tyres squirm like theres no tomoro and feel really unstable.

i've had a set of road attacks on the zx6r.....

800 miles out of the rear, about 2000 out of the front..... :yikes

i won't even look at them now! not too bad in the dry but there's a lot better tyres out there!

the wet? fook me, a single drop of rain is enough to make ya think you got a slick on the rear ffs, never trusted them in the wet.......changed to bt020's then to bt014's and next i'm going with pilot powers :D

having just ridden chips gixxer thou on damp roads with pilot powers on i can certainly reccommend them :D

i aint going to post how fast it was i went as he'll see it ;)

needless to say i did open her up a couple of times :D

I have fitted these to my T/cat and to be honest they feel realy good, loads of grip, nice feel to the handling, had them on for about 1000 miles and have no complaints, they certainly inspire a lot moreconfidence than the standard fitment Dunlop207s

I have fitted these to my sv650s after having the standard Dunlop d220's for 8k. Have to say they are a cracking tyre and i can actually feel what the bike does. The chicken strips were about 1" thick on the Dunlops, but i have worn the road attacks to the edge after a week. They warm up quick and the tread pattern looks cool too. I feel 100% more comfortable on my bike now. Strange what a bit of rubber can do

the rear does inspire confidence but i found the front in the wet was useless i would never fit a set again

:stupid

A slight moisture in the air was enough to make my attack front squirm like a dog in a vets ::)

:oHad conti road attacks on when I bought my 955i. Feel ok in the dry. Feel real scary in the wet which is a good thing cos they don't grip. Caught a big slide :yikes in the wet on Trafford parks diesel death roads.

Now having ridden in a fair bit of rain (our lovely monsoon summer) I have a great deal of respect for these conti tyres, No slippin or slidin and give a great feeling of confidence in the (very) wet conditions :D :D
