Sat Nav for my bike

Ive just had an upgrade through T-Mobile for a Compact III with Co-Pilot and also the JABRA bluetooth stereo headset.
Now once its paired the phone sits in the tank bag and all sat nav instructions can be clearly heard but what i do like is - its really easy to update speed cameras and get the warnings on route (thats what i use this for, only to highlight danger spots honest  ). Just thought id share this as im really chuffed with it

sounds cool mate, i was actually looking at getting one myself for the same purpose (although i was looking at the xda orbit on O2, but as far as i can tell its the same thing)  only problem was that on o2 co-pilot charges you for usage as it uses gprs as well as gps.  after quite a few conflicting stories someone at o2 told me it would be somewhere around.... 50mile journey = £10  -thats like petrol!

which is steep if you do as many miles as me, and also if you consider after you buy a tomtom unit its free to use.  Is this the same on T-mobile or do i seriously need to change my network?  i think you can actually buy tomtom for the xda and use it with the inbuilt GPS gizmo but then thats about £100 on top....  its never easy!

i suppose with the amount of money you may be saved in speeding tickets might make it worth the cost.

Alot of people are moaning about the Nokia N95 in the same respect as when you use the Inbuilt "Maps" program it uses the network to download map information for your current location. However if you look on Nokia you can download all the maps to your memory card if its large enough. I have turned off the option for my Nokia to use GPRS and it works fine.

I assume you could get the Co-Pilot to do the same...

Just had a look and the phone only uses GPRS for traffic (if activated) but that only costs a capped rate of £1.00 a day unless your on web and walk!
But other than that the thing is a complete standalone Sat Nav... Which is Nice!!
I downloaded the cameras from co-pilot site and have already downloaded POI's to the mem card, so everything is on the card (this is as far as i know)
I rode 80 miles this morning with the thing on and GPRS disabled works fantastic and clear 

The only thing i didnt like about the N95 was the battery life and thats why i chose the MDA!!

Ok cool, well ive picked up my xda now and i managed to get co-pilot thrown in for free with it so ill give it a try and if i dont get on with it ill go and get TomTom.

Ill just have to keep an eye out for it connecting to the internet... but i supose it makes sense that it should work the way you guys say it does.

Anyway ill give it a try and let you know if i get a £500 fone bill through! 

other than that though the fones fooking cool if ur into that sort of thing... it does everything... u can even make calls on it!
