Braking Wheels - advice needed
« on: January 15, 2008, 08:29:02 PM »
I've been mooching on the net looking for a set of lighter wheels than the standard OEM ones i've got for the R6 and come across a manufacturer called "Braking" wheels and i've seen these on Ebay. They are forged 1 piece alu alloy but just wondered if anyone here has a set and if so what do they think? The are cheaper than all other makes but i'm hoping they are not what you get pay for if you get what i mean as i dont really wanna remortgage the house to get a set of carbons bst's!

dont really know much about wheels for motorbikes
but certainly with bicycles, and from what i have seen of cars you do get what you pay for

of course there are some good ones which are cheaper, but it depends by how much your talking.

sorry i cant be of more use  :D

If you're after flash wheels that save a load of weight at reasonable (relatively !) prices then have a look for Durrani.

There's loads of technical stuff knocking about explaing how they're made but basically they're forged magnesium wheels at the price of aluminium but save a great deal more (unsprung) weight - they have some sort of chemical coating which negates all the negative points of magnesium alloy.

Just a 'little' more pricey than the Braking wheels but don't come with the discs.

Available soon from Speedy.com (who do Zard and Racefit exhausts amongst other things.)

A PM to 'Horse' might prove fruitful  ;)
