I bought a quick-release fairing bolt kit for my R1 from Pro Bolt at the NEC bike show last year. When I came to fit them, I found that:

1. The "kit" was one short.

2. There were two bolts which are recessed, and so the quick-release bolts did not fit.

3. The bolts did not fit correctly. The originals have a definite "quarter-turn and then lock" action. With the pro-bolt items, there was no lock. In fact, I sheared some of them trying to get them to seat properly. This was in spite of the fact that I also bought new clips for them.

Questions:

1. Are Pro Bolt rubbish, or was I just unlucky?

2. Can anyone recommend a make of quick release fairing bolts for a 2006 R1?

Thanks a lot!
