ABBA Stand
« on: February 11, 2008, 10:34:10 PM »
Picked up an Abba stand at the excel show and tried it out last weekend, they're pricy (£90 including fitting kit) compared to a regular paddock stand but very handy.  I had to file out the inside of the swingarm pivot pin slightly to get the R/H spigot to fit but other than it was really simple.  Lifting and lowering is a very easy (and safe) one man operation and leaves the rear suspension unloaded.  Its also easy to prop up the front end too as the majority of weight is taken on the stand itself, Abba sell a specific prop for this but its just as easy (and cheaper) to use some wood or an axle stand.

Overall a very good product, if a little expensive.

Another vote here, although I do find its easier to unbalance it when yanking the rear wheel out.

A daft question but I wanted to ask.

Can I use it for long periods of time while the bike is in the garage not being used

I ask as my Fazer had a center stand and my Triple does not. I have made sure its locked into place and all tight etc..

Just thought I would ask? :D
