BT016 Bridgestones 02 Injection R1
« on: August 05, 2008, 10:03:15 PM »
Ok so been having handling issues with this R1 since iv had it, mainly with front end confidence, and after my horrfic unexplained accident in jan, i had concidered it was just me.
but...
just fitted brand new BT016`s to it and its awesome!  :jump  :love
at last i can actually enjoy the freedom of riding again!, i only got the loose wheels back this evening, and by the time i wopped em back on, i only had 20minds of dusk left, so on went the leathers, and a few solid feeling kneedowns later and all is right with the world  :rofl  :jump
obviously they arent even properly scuffed in yet, but front end confidence and stability is fantastic, like being on rails. good feedback is the main thing i notice.
Highly recomended  :D  :D

Once iv scuffed them in properly and adjusted back to riding like im not just tryin to predict the next crash, i`ll review them properly  ;)

couldn't agree more cracking tyres mate, the front end has plenty of feel and the back just feels stuck solid on mine. They warm up really quick too

Yup im with you there  :D I was running Avons a couple of years ago and was sliding around a few times but switched to the BT014 and loved them now im running BT016 front and after killing the 16 on the rear moved to the 21 on the rear as im doing more milage, to be honest i cant tell the difference as the grip is awesome in the Wet and Dry ;)

hope you don't mind me adding my review on here about the 016's
 :down
Well what can I say about them. I went out today for a 80 mile run after work to Abergavenny.

I love em. its the first 80 miles I have done on then after getting them fitted last Friday.
But with only a few miles on them I have already used more front tyre than I did on the qualifier over 2000 miles. and already used all the rear edge to edge

great feedback, warm up time, grip the list is endless.

1st  was I did not check the tyre pressure before going out so they did have a few Psi then I normally run.

2nd. I'm not sure they will last more than 2-3k the way I have been riding today

bloody good tyres

BT016s - Good tyres.  :D

Managed to get my knee-down after 29 miles on the new ZX6 (yes I did run it in like teh book said) and they lasted 4500 miles. Front might have gone to 6000 but wasn't worth the hassle.

dont mind at all remal  :D together we can spread the message of love from the bt016  :P
I`m still liking them alot, not that the weather has allowed me much time to use them properly! and dark nights drawing in. I just think i need to adjust my suspension abit to suit now, as i put this bike backt to standard settingd when i got it(as i always do) but the front feels abit hard for the road, like the tyres are doing everything with not much help from the suspension, im a pretty light guy so i`m gonna soften up the front n set the sag for me, then i think the bridgestones will shine all the brighter  :D
and yeh the 014 was an very stable tyre aswel  :D

Totaly agree with all above except Ken, we get a summer south of the Tyne,

BT016's put them on when they first came out and no bike mags had tried them so had no

idea wot they would be like, but jesus H was I surprised, they give a lot of confidence from the get go,

they do get a bit of bobble when ragged on track from cold but who cares, Croft trashes all makes,

go and buy em.

I went to Jerez on the launch of them for PB mag.. not having ridden on sports tyres for a long time (usually on race tyres) I was very impressed. Jumping from r6 - rc8 - 675 - zx6 . 848 on the track with the bikes on track constantly (2 different groups riding them back to back) had no issues, As I said at the time, you can run the front mega hot into corners like a race tyre, with no worries about losing the front, they change direction quickly, with minimal efffort but  are also stable, and only towards the end of the session did the rears start to protest a little out of the bends, but he slides were very predictable.. now if they last as long as the tech bumpf reckon they will they will make a  great all round road tyre.

the 2nd day we went road riding, through some spanish  national park.. miles of smooth, twisty tarmac, jumping from a street triple-  bking- z750 - hypermotard.. the only bike I was slightly concerned over was the b king, but they may just have been that the thing is a bus and I got it through the twistiest section of the ride..

but on unknown roads, the tyres give serious  feed back, and are light and quick to turn, never gave cause to think you were anywhere near their limits

PIC WHORING OPPORTUNITY

FRONT ROW : Jerry Mcwilliams & Casey Stoner  , just behind Ron Haslam (ever felt slow on a bike .. I did that Day )
