Moto GP 2008 Review PS3
« on: October 23, 2008, 08:52:27 PM »
Well having spent this evening with JP testing MotoGP 2008 and enjoying some beers I am some what impressed with the game as whole!

Addiction Level is very high started off playing on the 125 Career mode progressing through the races gradually and so far we are sixth in the Championship due to my 6th place. JP just pulled out a 1st podium finish in Spain.

Now a little about the game.......

Graphics are pretty good/awesome which characters feet responding to gear changing, the night race graphics are pretty breath taking with some great shadow effects and I have just started the Japanese GP in the rain and the rain effects are great, but the handling/my riding is as good as my cadwell/donny wet track day skills.

All the racers are there from Bradely Smith to good old Toseland and for you Horse fanciers Stoners there too. Plenty of options to mess with the bikes set up and tyres to make the most from your ride.

As we are playing race for race, we are playing 3 lap races however if playing alone I can see the addictiveness off full length races for fun as the gameplay is very responsive and the rider responds to the controls very well.

There are some nice details from riding the Fiat Yam with the flames exiting the cans as the rider changes gear.

Now the down side, being there is two of us here we were looking to play a split screen mutliplayer option so that we could both race each other and I could give JP a chance to pass me for once. However the only multiplayer option is for online nerding against prepubescent teenagers who have nothing better to do all day! So far this is the only downside that we have experienced and our overall impression from the 3 hours we have spent playing the game is good.

If you are fan of the previous games I can see no reason why you wouldnt enjoy playing this game as it improves on previous years. If it is your first time with a MotoGP game then I can say its well worth the purchase and with the 125 250 and MotoGP class will certainly give you enough challenge.

Superbike Forums Rating 9/10 :D

The grass on the other side may be greener but you still have to mow it.

Those images are quite impressive. Couldn't work out how they had been done just looking at them from the index page, thought they'd been painted at first.  :o

Got my copy today, for the ps3, addictive is not the word. Arcade mode is good but simulation is so hard. I couldn't make it round 2 bends before coming off and thats just on the 125's lol  :rofl . If weather is crap tomorrow i know what ill be doing. My i.d tag is bling1982 for those who play on line. So anyone up for an easy win can add me  :LOL

i'm not great on bike racing games but even I am playing it on advanced next step up from suimulation. its not easy. bloody hard but great fun. just to get a top 10 is hard and takes alot to get used to the track but a great way not to finihs the game quick. i'm up to the 8 round in the first season in 125cc. about 8th in the championship but working towards upgrades to get my bike faster and handle better

very enjoyable game
