Venhill quick action throttles
« on: November 21, 2008, 12:43:27 AM »
Just fitted one,

fantastic piece of kit,  does away with the pointless 2 cable system, easier control and smoother operation with the featherlite cable.

the whole conversion is reasonabily easy to fit, takes a hour, a must for race/trackdayers and at a good price.

down side is,  on some bikes you have to relocate the switches the switches (to be considered on road bikes)

The suppliers are Seton Tuning, which are registered on the forum and can sort out any member requiring a kit   :D

Was thinking about this when people were talking about QA throttles before...

There's no return cable? Which means that if the open cable snaps, it's possible that it'll stay open?

I thought it was more a safety issue?

the spring on the throttle bodies makes the throttle close,so it's only if this siezes/breaks etc.. that the throttle will stay open.have never really understood the whole twin cable thing myself.
bones are made to be pinned.ask my surgeon.!!

Throttle bodies... so it wouldn't work on a carb'd bike?

Quote from: wikipedia
A throttle body is somewhat analogous to the carburetor in a non-injected engine. Carburetors combine the functionality of the throttle body and the fuel injectors into one

Close enough to be the same thing in this case :D

But from what Scoobs said, the springs on the throttle bodies would close the throttle; isn't that what the return cable is for on a carb'd engine?

I was always under the impression 2 cables gave you better throttle control

Quite the opposite in fact  :D

2 cables = 2 adjustments, therefore twice as likely to be incorrectly adjusted  :D
