after being quoted £150 for ducati rosso red in powder coat,  its now getting sprayed vehicle ennamel rosso red.. £10  ;)

bloody Mag wheels cost me £130 with the complete glass bead blasting and refurb  :yikes

the powder coaters i use will probs charge about £75 for that

a lot more hard wearing than paint too.  :D

You know the craic with mag alloy wheels mate - a tiny scratch and corrosion can set in and they're very porous so need the correct treatment and coatings  :D

Just go for carbon wheels - it makes sense   >:D

yeah, exactly....  the powder coat that was on it was poor,  corrosion had got in everywhere,  it was bead blasted back to clean metal, zinc coated and re-powder coated into satin black.

The guy specialises in show stuff so knows his stuff..  very old worldy place where you nip in for a cup of tea while he gets his pics out from 1972  :rofl

The picture does it absolutly no justice..

its a exact shade of ducati red and as its plasticote,  it is as smooth as glass

(3 layers of primer, 6 top coats)  and cost £10  ;D

Id love a 916, but i doubt anybody would buy my zx7r unless i put it on ebay for stupid money.

it is.. no laquer required as it is a plastic based paint..  finish is spot on as long as you keep it wet when spraying  :D

Stupid question but as long as you keep what wet :-\

when spraying and to keep it smooth,  do not allow the paint to dry before adding the next coat, apply the next coat as soon as the paint settles, 5/10 mins between coats  :D
