Poxy Italian electrics
« on: June 01, 2009, 08:24:09 AM »
It had to happen sooner or later....  ::)

Running fine and the bloody thing cuts out.  No warning.  No coughing or spluttering. Just cut out and died.

It turns over on the button, but won't fire and there's a nice wiff of petrol, so I've not filled it with diesel  :giggle  I'd cleaned it about an hour before and had done 20+ miles on a fresh tank of juice.

Anyone had similar or any pointers?   :hum

Squirt some WD40 in the kill switch as sometimes when cleaning these get furred up.

Just a thought. :D

Tried that Dave, but when the kill switch is in, the starter cuts out all together.  Thought it might be the stand switch too, but that does the same.  Sticking it in gear and trying to start it just cuts the whole system like the kill switch.

There's gonna be some crap in something somewhere.  Just hope its not gonna turn out to be one of them bitches that takes an age to find.   ::)

might you have got some water in the dash - no dash - no go go, might be worth a look.

Could be a case of some water left over from the wash got evaporated when you rode it and as steam, has managed to get into something.

Hey at least I have lived with two Italian beauties - I have experienced the pain and dread that morning when you go out to the bike and hope it works, and then the relief when it does and the pleasure of the ride.

So much more soul that a Japanese bike.

So I may take the mikey, but unlike riders of poxy Suzuki's I have been there  :D
