Hideout Leathers - Excellent
« on: July 18, 2009, 05:46:27 PM »
Gave my 1-piece to Hideout leathers to make some changes to it, got it back three weeks later (was quoted 2-3 weeks) and at first I thought they hadn't done anything as the job was that good!     Very impressed with their workmanship and would use again, highly recommended!

Since i've lost masses of weight i'm gonna have them reduce the size of 2 sets of my leathers soon.

Luckily they are in essex so i can drop them off :)

My ex wife had hers altered by them from new and the stitching was exactly the same style as original

Oops should have posted details the first time around.   :-[

I use a size 54 one-piece and while this allows me room for my Forcefield back protector it means the arms and legs are a little too long, so I had them take about a half inch off both and also reduce the circumference so the arms and legs are a tighter fit.

My suit was designed for the 'suit-to-boot' style of boot but as I don't use them it meant trying to pack all the excess inside my boot which was a nightmare, they removed all the excess so it's like a normal suit now where the suit goes inside the boots.

Half an inch may not sound like much but my gloves have a wide piece of armour on the top of the hand, this meant that when on the bike it would foul the leather of the arm when applying the throttle....it was very annoying.  I tried my suit on Sat as I had to get an MOT...no problems what so ever now and means I can concentrate 100% on my riding.

Very happy bunny!  :005_sbiggrin:

Contact details as below, very friendly service I might add.

Yeah Hideout are good, they adjusted my Crowtree trousers for me the other week

The leathers were an absolute bargain and the guy i bought them off was shorter in the leg than me so they basically dropped the knees down a bit for me and they now fit properly on the bike. There was a couple of bits that needed re-doing when i got the trousers back so i phoned Kate up (who does the repairs) and told her about it, they were collected by Parcel Force, sorted and sent back within a week, just think they were busy at the time and that's why a couple of bits were missed tbh.

Cost me a £100 and the leathers only cost me £50 in the first place virtually brand new, not bad considering they told me that trousers alone cost £350+ to make in the first place  :yikes

The workmanship on Hideout and Crowtree (now closed down) is outstanding and gives you real confidence - highly recommended
