dropped my bike like a plonker club
« on: February 18, 2010, 01:59:03 PM »
This is a little embarrassing, as I have fallen off the R6….

Last week was hell at work, 07:30 starts and getting home around 22:00 hours, meeting after meeting and I had to make 12 hour long presentations plus questions and answers to boot. These were all over Lancashire so I did quite a lot of riding.

By Thursday night I was getting tired, and I turned up for the last evening meeting and the final presentation. I pulled up at the security office and asked where I can park the bike. So I could hear the guy I switched the engine off, sat there with right foot on the peg and rear brake and left foot on the floor.

He was scratching his head, as he wanted to keep the bike visible from the security post but not on public view. He said park over there, pointing over my right shoulder, I looked round, and said where, there near the green sign. I turned around a bit more and felt the bike starting to go. Inadvertently I had put more weight on the right peg. I spun round and grabbed the bars, but it was too late, she was past the point of no return, I just had to slow down the fall as much as I could.

The guy was pissing himself at this point. He gave me a hand picking her up and said "you know the worst thing is this has been filmed on the security camera….."

Only damage is a scratch on the crash mushroom… oh and dented pride.

So does this qualify for binned my bike club?

Steve

Like a plonker, I dropped the Hayabusa, not just anywhere though.

It was a couple of weeks ago now, but I rode up the the local Suzuki dealer, parked right outside the place which has the biggest windows in NATO, thought that I had lowered the stand.

No chance of that, so down went the bike, luckily enough no damage (thanks R&G )

And the folk inside the shop? Must have been a good dozen or so, and its odd that they were all looking out of the window as it happened !! :jump

Oh the joys :rotflmao:
