What Tyres?
« on: March 06, 2010, 03:52:02 PM »
My first time ever I have to replace my bike tires! Exciting expensive times.

Firstly its for my 1998 thundercat, my rear is 160/ 60/ 17.

1, Does it have to be 160/60 and will different profiles effect the bikes handling?

2, What tyre would you recommend, taking budget in to account first followed by performance.

What's on it now?

Are you happy with them?

If yes,then buy more.

If no,what are your issues?

Bridgestone Battlax bt020.

They are very slippy in the wet, but thats because they have been needing replacements since i got the bike.

whats people thoughts?

if its longevity your after for a bike predominantly used on the road, avon storms, dunlop roadsmarts, michelin pilot road 2's pirelli angels are all good tyres for the road and will see good milage, the dunlops in particular are geting really good reviews....personally i'd stick to manufacturer recommendations re size and profile
when i was a kid i used to pray to god to bring me a bike.....then i realised he didn't work that way...so i stole one and then prayed for forgiveness.
