Intecepter system -Seton Tuning- Suzuki GSXR600 K8 De cat
« on: June 06, 2010, 11:24:26 AM »
Ok,  Ive decided to take the plunge and have a full intecepter system fitted to my GSXR600 K8 by Phil Seton from Seton Tuning in Colchester.

this will include

Intecepter system

quick shifter (may go to race shift pattern)

2 on board custom maps (1 for full noise, 1 for baffles)

bar mounted fuel map switch

standard modded headers, MHP custom made link and rear (de catted/ de valved) pipework in Titanium

full flow air filter

It has now had its 1st Dyno and did pull a healthy 105BHP with the full flow air filter and the rear huge silencer removed. Fueling set as standard was very good to be honest but does run rich and power drops off at mid range.

I will be picking it up just before Brands hatch trackday in 2 weeks time and we will see what happens on the dyno after the work and the effects it has on track

This seems a better system than a PC, one day I would like to do an exhaust and fueling job on my 750 k8 so I am following all of this with a keen eye. At Brands I will be looking out for  you so I can pick your brains on how you feel about it.
So please keep me informed of our it goes

BUT
I do have a question?
How much does it cost in comparision to a PC system???
From what I understand it is a better system.
And you did mention this on another forum but boy I can not find it again could you tell me which forum you mentioned it on ?

Mentioned it on you tube with the video,  I maybe registered on other sites but very rarely log in or post so dont think Ive put it anywhere else

there is a lot of advantages with Intecepter systems over power commander.

it controls all the 8 injectors instead of the 4 primeries (you can now expand Power commander to do that at extra cost and another unit)

quick shifter is plug and play and only cost £185 complete ,  this is the 1 feature Im buying the complete set up for  ;)

switchable fuel maps via the bar switch so you can fit baffles for a quiet day and just switch over to the correct map

Fuel mapping is more precise (that also depends on the skill of the installer, hence Im going the Uks main supplier at Seton tuning)

pit lane speed limiter (not that I will need it)  :LOL

on board data logging.

there is other stuff it does but really only want it for the quick shifter and to re map once the cat has been removed

and more importantly,  its cheaper than power commander  :wistle

I will give a review once I see the dyno run and 1st outing in 2 weeks but I would like to think we will get a genuine 110bhp+ on the rear wheel and have the rich mid fueling sorted

Ok, for them that didnt know,  the 1st outing didnt go very well at Brands Hatch on monday  :-\

that was down to the fact I got highsided at clearways...  :rotflmao:

that said, my 1st impressions on the 3 sessions I did get out,  well the quick shifter is awesome  >:D

that is 1 fantastic piece of kit!!!  still need to delay the 2 to 3rd gears a touch as it does have a habit of throwing the front wheel up.

power went from 105bhp to 112bhp once finished with the full set up and the MHP titanium exhaust which is 1bhp more than a full yoshi and the full kit is cheaper than just buying the Yoshi  ;)
Also fitting the MHP titanium system cut 5kg of weight  :yikes

Brands was a 102db trackday and it passed with flying colours at 101db with no baffle fitted, it has been tested with the baffle in and the bar mounted fuel map select switch operated and it came out at 97.5db
I had a misfire problem which I realised it was me with my foot lifting the gear selector in right hand bends so quick shifter thought I wanted to change gears  :wistle

throttle response is far sharper and the increase of BHP and torque with the fully dyno'd remap made the bike feel crisp and light now the fueling has been sorted as well.
I now have to rebuild the bike after the damage but will do a proper run out next time but for what I paid, I feel more than happy I got a lot of bang for my buck

there is a discount for site members only, wishing to have a full or part set up.

if you have the latest Suzuki GSXR600/750 with a built in cat,  you can have a very sexy MHP custom built Titanium exhaust, link pipe, fuel map switch, intercepter system and quick shifter with forum discount for less than a Yoshimura exhaust.  :wistle

pics dont do it justice but you get the idea
