Legs, Are you meeting up with Tight 5 at the slip road onto the A1 just past the Washington services?

well i pposted this on GJ site so here's my review as i cant be arsed to type it all again and i should be getting mine in june/july fingers crossed as they are rare as rocking hores poo to find one in black as every man and his dog wants the white one which i dont, just to be different....

Well i went out today for a test ride on the new bmw and i loved it,its fast but dont feel like it and it go's around corners with ease,i was pushing it as much as i dared to as it's not my bike and it was solid in the corners and it was exellent plenty of feel what the bike was doing which was not alot very planted and stable, the power above 10,000 is stunning and it loves being revved and the brakes are good but they could be better in my opinion, initial bite on the brakes is strong but seems to ease up after a bit..??? they were also quite noisy and as i told the chap who tried following me they were noisy..???
Suspension was soft for me but still handled my weight easily,he put it straight in to sport mode but would'nt put it in slick mode as i was like a loony on it within 10 minutes on it...lol...very very impressed with it,the faster you rode it the better it was,the anti wheelie was a bit of a pain in the arse but can be dialled out,the quick shifter got smoother the faster you go on it and the slipper clucth is as good as anything out there.a quick rider can be a quicker rider on it,im deffo going to get one as it suits my riding style perfectly its a very comfy bike and my mate whos a yamaha guy even took a shine to it and said it feels like a gixxer when you sit on it...lol,

I just revved the fook out of it and rode it like a hooligan screaming it down the gearbox and it just didnt get out of shape at all,i didnt have any issues with it at all apart from the rear brake pedal has alot of travel to it..???? deffo my next bike,,,,,amazing in the corners and more than enough bhp in standard trim aswell, its a screamer of a engine, compared to my k7 1000 it feels alot lighter and turns in faster and and feels alot balanced the top end rush is alot bettter but the k7 1000 feels quicker to 100mph in my opinion,it feels as light as a new R6 but screams like a highly tuned fireblade or gsxr 1000,fooking bonkers bike and beleive the hype it's awsome and worth the extra money in my opinion, also found out that they also have launch control on them but you have to do something to it for it to work which the salesman said they dont like to tell people about it..??? how true is this as i dont know..????

When i get one i'll get rid of the passenger foot pegs get a colour coded seat cowl and a r+g tail tidy and a akra evo shorty full  system and a k+n or bmc race filter and pc5 and thats all i would do to it as it looks good enough as it is apart from the fugly headlights..........fooking awsome bike.!!!!!

They're a laugh aren't they?

Launch control :

Select first gear and hold the revs until the shift light errrrr lights steady (around 9000rpm) then dump clutch.

Most racers don't bother using it as it's a fine line between the perfect get away and pogo-ing down the straight as anti-wheelie cuts power, drops front wheel, front lifts,Aw cuts in,etc etc.

They also say a race filter is pointless as the standard job flows enough air easily.

My brakes squeal too - regular cleaning helps but a pad change is the real cure.

The 'feel' of mine is the opposite of yours - not a great deal of initial bite then come on strong the harder you pull.

I suppose it depends what you're used to - my last bike (1198S with Brembo monoblocs) had ferocious initial bite  :yikes

the rotors seemed loud under hard braking no sqealing, freind said because they are not floating discs they are louder but i never noticed if there were floating or not,the brakes i think could be better as maybe fitting a bigger master cyclinder will improve them alot more..???  the QuickShitter also works better the faster you rode it aswell, the demo bike i rode had over 3000 miles on it so everything broke in pretty good i think,i never tried the so called launch control but the salesman said hold it at 7000 rpm and just dump the clutch..????  lol

it's usually the opposite, full floating discs are very loud (well loud compared to semi floating).

I find the rear brake has a lot of travel also, guess just something to get used to.

My brakes are noisy too, really tempted to replace the pads to get rid of the squeeling but seems like a bit of waste really. The initial bite on mine is superb, like i said in the original review i've been getting the back will lifting under heavy breaking which is always fun.

The launch control is good, was nervous about doing the first time but it works well. Take it up to 9k rpm and dump the clutch, the front wheel lifts and unless you back off slightly the front wheel acts like a pogo stick but if you back off after the intial "Launch" theres no problems.

Had it in race mode the other day and got the back out coming off a roundabout, wasn't expecting it but the bike still felt really planted and was really easy to control. Apparantly normal "Race" mode allows rear wheel drifiting to...  :LOL
