Well im couple hundred quid short now on buying the bmw in black as every one i've seen is the white one...lol now that the gsxr is sold and sell on a few more of the race parts off it to sell on im nearly there to buy one cash,i just want to take a new 2010 fireblade and gsxr for a demo ride and the new `r1` and zx10r just to make sure the bmw is the bike for me.......... :thumbsup:

Makes sense but don't hang about too long - delivery dates at some dealers have slipped back to end of August.

put £500 deposit on one for middle to end of june.......if i change my mind i can still get the £500 back from them.... :005_sbiggrin:

Yes I've heard bmw are doing a special on a complete bike minus the engine since they have so many "knocking" about. Pickup straight away.

You could buy a fireblade engine and put it in the BMW frame, but honda seem to be having sump plug issues also :giggle :wistle

SUMP PLUGS , ROTTING EXHAUSTS AND CLUTCHES THAT EAT THEMSELVES my local honda dealer has around 100 fooked clutches on the sheleves they are binning taken out of the 09 blades...lol and did i forget fooking slow engines,jeez i test rode a new 2010 abs blade and it was slow..???? it was nice and the brakes were amazing but no wow factor,very disapointed with itmy old k7 would eat it, my bmw will be here in the end of june,and they (bmw) have had 8-10 engines go bang world wide so thats pretty good considering they are the biggest selling bike this year and are out selling every manufacturer,just got to sell the rest of my parts of my k7 1000 and i'll be ordering a titanium akra evo shorty exhaust and pc5 soon as its run in.....like xmas now waitng for the phone call to go and pick it up now.....

Hi All,
Now then, i have a S1000rr Race Paint,carbon hugger,carbon chain guard. pazzos,tint screen, Akropovich and quick shift....No TC or ABS.  i chose to spend the cash on a few bits. I have owned all sorts of bikes from Gixers, SP2's to Busas and BMW Rt's and done track days and toured half of Europe thrashing sports bikes through the Alpine passes and i hope that these experiences have given me a bit of bike craft.

Dumbing down of the rider and allowing him to give it handfulls of front brake and fistfulls of throttle exiting corners with total reliance on technology is a great step forward, and probably allows some guys to ride quicker than they normally would, with caution thrown to the wind. BUT, this technology is working in hostile conditions, heat and vibration, and the first time it glitches could be find yourself out on a limb.

I am happy to ride within my capabilities and not put myself in the hands of  the onboard 'getout clause'.

This is just an opinion and of course there is an argument that the technology could get me out of jail when the old boy screws up.

Interesting point though :thumbsup:

There's also the argument that knowing you have the safety net of traction control you'll have the confidence to get on the power harder and earlier without actually using the tc  :thumbsup:

On track,i'm not really sure if TC and ABS is worth the bother.

On road,I bloody well know it is  :-[
