PC3, no difference?
« on: July 02, 2010, 05:36:55 PM »
Good evening guys and girls, lovely weather we're having.

So i've had my jardine rt1 with my cbr600rr 2003 and ive always loved it.
My bike has always had a jerking motion when coming completely off/on throttle.
I've boguht a PC3 thinking i would cure this but it hasnt...

This is not my point.
My point is even though the PC3 hasnt cured the on/off throttle problem it surly will make a difference around the rev range. it hasnt.

There is no difference, ive tried sending the origanal map (stock exhaust and air filter) and the bike runs exactly like it did without the PC3 installed (obviously).
So i upload the jardine slip on/stock air filter map to the PC3, i was all excited to see the difference. well... the bike ran a little bit worse than the stock map.
I've played about with the 'low''middle'high' ranges on the PC3 making it more lean or more rich, but it makes no difference.

Anyone any idea's?
I'm expecting alot of 'take it to a dyno tuning centre'

Thanks, paul

Havn't had any flashy PC£ or other tuning kit fitted to mine  :yikes

But I took it to the dyno place after fitting a new slip on and link pipe, a bit of tweaking with the bike's EMU and it now runs like a dream.

He reakons he could get more power with a proper power commander and do an even better setup.

But I'm happy with a jerk free bike and 150 bhp

so cant recommend a dyno set up enough

well im gonna be different here  :wistle , yes go put it on the dyno but whats the point until you find out why the bike is doing that? the problem was there before you put pc on so a dyno isnt gonna fix it, all you've done is put a new map on the bike designed for you exhaust, i'd get bike put on computer to see if any fault codes exist, also id be thinking along the lines of throttle bodies or the sensor why i say this is because i had something similar happen on my lasses 600rr03, it would be fine one minute and crap the next..... i have a pc3 on my race 600rr and it runs smoothly but maybe a lil rich however the map is perfect for the bike  .............. good luck tho  now im  no mechanic and somebody may correct me but its given you food for thought anyway

A "Custom" map can give smoother acceleration at low revs and will almost definitely iron out the problem, I would defo get it custom mapped which at the same time can check for fault codes, two birds with one stone
