I class it as a collision and not an accident.

Please,NOT AGAIN !!!!!

 :LOL

It's been said a few times already but this wasn't a deliberate act and could quite easily have been one of us making the mistake.

I think sentencing was fair.

Put yourself in the coppers position - how would you like to have been sentenced?

As bikers, how many times have vehicles either pulled out in front of you or turned right into a side road in front of you?

It has happened to me many times, that is why I am cautions when I see a vehicle at a junction or turning right into a side road.

Now could the biker have avoided the accident (that is partly why I would want to know all the circumstances).

Yes.

He could have chosen to take the car, taken a different road or simply not have bothered riding that day.

But that's fooking st00pid.

You can ride defensively but you can't take account of every eventuality

It would be arrested and interrogated before mysteriously 'disappearing', never to be seen again. ;)

You can ride defensively but you can't take account of every eventuality

you can to a point apart from things like earthquakes or ice falling from aircraft and certainly on the subject of SMIDSEY's should these really come as a surprise?
when you formulate your riding plan you need to include-

What can be seen
What can’t be seen
What one can reasonably expect to happen

and we are not talking about blame here we are talking self preservation, i would suggest a large proportion of SMIDSEY's could have been avoided by the rider.

Meaning a small proportion could not.

I get the impression from this thread that some folks want him hung, drawn and quartered because he is a policeman and cannot accept the fact he is a human being like the rest of us. He got a fair hearing/punishment but none of it compares to the emotional turmoil the guy has to live with.

Fook i could go to town on this thread :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Some shite posts and some good ones as usual, poor Paxo that boy gets some shìt,Paxo mate just say what you feel mate and fook them all,I fookin hate all the filth and would not pìss on one if he was on fire and if i passed one in trouble i would not help him,but i was going to say this one got of lightly then i thought about it and most drivers would get this punishment, because as a biker we get what we deserve for riding a bike in the first place they are death machines or so i'm told,so in most non bikers eyes its our fault

Agree with Mags as well, the least he should have been sacked

I remember when this place was fun,and we had loads of banter.......not slate the shìt out of each other.

seen many people come and go over the years(some top fellas, some assholes),the main reason i don't bother posting much is theres some right numptys on here nowadays who are so far up there own asses they can probably see there tonsils.............a forums about having a laugh and discussions not pick the posts to death because you don't think its appropriate, or the grammar, spelling is incorrect lets take a reality check shall we............how many regular posters nowadays compared to 2-3 years ago.

could not agree more mate     :down in

No, nothing to discuss as he(policeman) has taken the blame , very  very sad for all parties involved and speculation wont help the family or Policeman.

I'm surprised this is the first I've heard about this story. The place in question is only a mile from my parents house and isnt really known for accidents at all.

I obviously dont know what the weather conditions were but the road the bikers were on is the start of a wicked twisty road to Norwich. Where the accident happened its pretty hard NOT to see someone coming car or bike as there's quite a way to see both ways. I'm guessing the bikers werent going slowly (60 limit in the area) but they are local and would have known the junction very well so very surprising they weren't ready for someone pulling out. But also surprising they couldnt avoid a collision as there are fields either side.

Such a shame the outcome and I think my sisters went to school with the guy's grandkids.

I dont think the copper should lose his job completely as its not going to help anyone or change the outcome but perhaps not an out based job as he had before. It'll be the case for at least a year and he may not even be comfortable going back to it himself. I couldnt bare to live with something like that myself.
