Most policies for legal cover will not cover you for advice/representation against a criminal or motoring conviction, they are in the main to cover you for uninsured loss recovery in the event of an accident

I think Kerm may be correct there

Hi all,

Got caught doing 101 on the A27 in April and have just received the summons for court on the 20th, will be pleading guilty as it was a fair cop.  What, in peoples experience, do you expect I'll get?  Looking around online I've found the maximum is 6 points, £1000 fine, 56 day ban, but think you get a ban OR points, not both.  Had an SP30 from 2004 but that has now been removed, otherwise my license is clean.  I've since sold my bike so thinking of using that to an advantage if possible - remorse, seen the error of ways etc ;)

Also, is it worthwhile getting a solicitor?  Had a quick look around at costs  :yikes  Will having one really be a saving in the long run?

Cheers

I was banned for 6 months and fined £300 a few years back for doing 106 mph on A5....

Nice one mate. My friend just got banned for 130 plus on the a27 racing an RX8.
He got 56day ban and £300 quid fine. we`ll see how much his insurance goes up by  :-\
