Hi everybody,

My name is Leonardo. Found the forum looking for fellow superbikes and bikers in general in England. I'm currently in Costa Rica but me and my wife are planning on moving to Northern England (Cumbria) in the mid term.

I own a 1996 SZR 660 (that right now is all in pieces as I put it all apart to restore it but haven't gotten the chance to finish the project), an R1 2003 and a Caponord 2002.



Looking forward to getting in touch with bikers that can show me around once I get to England, I've been looking for tracks and rides to do once we get up there.

Does anybody know what's involved in nationalizing my bikes in England? I'm wondering whether it would be easier / less expensive to sell my bikes here and buy new bikes up there or whether the cost associated with getting my bikes in the country is more reasonable than purchasing new bikes.

cant answer your questions but i would imagine it to be a lot easier to sell up and buy here.

Welcome to SBF Leonardo :wave There are a few members who live in Cumbria :thumbsup: As for tracks, you won't be too far from Oulton Park (best circuit in the country :thumbsup:) and Croft.

Importing a previously registered bike means you will have to have an MSVA test (on each bike) - about £150 per test. You then apply to the DVLA for a registration number.

I think bikes are expensive here compared to other parts of the world, I suppose it depends on how much your bikes will sell for in Costa Rica and the exchange rate, compared to the shipping cost to get them over here.
