Bike re-build project thread (defo belong on this board even if it is a PED)

OK here is the start of my eldest lads project thread
He is wanting to do motor mechanics technicians course at college when he leaves school this year, so to help give him a bit more of an understanding of all things petrol ands also to help with his transportation issues in getting to college, we have got him an Aprila SR50 ped, it's in pieces at the moment but hopefully in the next couple of months he should have a running bike with MOT that he can either sell on to help fund another bike or use himself, in true yorkshire fasion the  transaction was carried out usint barter and as my mate didn't have change for a ferrit the bike cost me the cost of his cat being neutered
(THIS IS TRUE THE BIKE DID COST ME THE COST OF HIS CAT GETTIN THE SNIP)

WELL NOT DONE A LOT ON THIS LATELY, BUT HAVE BOOKED HALF TERM OFF IN TWO WEEKS TO SPEND WITH KIDS AND GET THIS SORTED ALONG WITH A COUPLE OF OTHER THINGS.
hOWEVER i HAVE MANAGED TO UN-SIEZE IT AND FREED UP PISTON AND CLEANED BARREL AND PISTON ALL WORKS FINE NOW VERY SMOOTH AND NO SCORING ON BARREL SO ALL SYSTEMS GO ON W/C 21/2/2010

nothing wrong with stickin a bike in the boot...my first was a yammy sr125 ansd i stuck that in the boot of me punto and tied the boot lid down 
  The dealer i bought it from in wolverhampton went pale as a ghost when my missis told him we were taking it back all the way to northampton. Priceless.
  Good luck with the build, let us know how it gets on, i might buy a project like that for my lil' bro to keep him out of bother!

it most probably has a plated bore but a new piston and rings wouldnt hurt

LOL well I did use 2000grain wet and dry and some old engine oil to skim the head 

OK well got this week off as half term with kids and have started on this, yesterday we errected an additional workshop due to it stating to snow again

had to do brakes on my car today and also ended up fuckin it up and had to bleed the whole system which was a twat, but our pikey helped me and so I got on and did a bit more on the ped

Fully installed the drive system
