fùck me you are getting on mate if you need different coloured wheels to see the difference between wets and normal tyres :-D

Take some pics when you can sounds like youre making good progress!

Colour coded you see blue = water how smart is that {I know not very  :LOL}

Pics will be a few weeks yet - gathering parts at the moment you see the leg is still aching. But I plan to start over Xmas.

Here we go!

Busy Xmas started the rebuild starting to look the dogs bollocks now  :jump

Sub-assemblies.

Wheels & Brake Discs

Brought a second set of black Wheels and Discs.
I had to touch up the wheels {Ford/Gloss Black} because they had a few scrapes on the side. Now it is hard to spot any damage.
I had the bearings replaced in both wheels and the wheels checked to confirm they were true.
The brake discs were re-assembled using new bolts.
Power one’s fitted and the wheels balanced.
The wheels are now reassembled and OK for the bike.

Swingarm

I had the bearings replaced and the second hand Swingarm re-sprayed.

Fuel Tank

The Fuel Pump is fitted to the Tank.
Nice looking Accossato race cap fitted
The fuel cap along with a funnel is nice to use, it should save a lot of time and trouble.

Building a GSX R 750 K8 Track Bike

The major sub-assemblies were complete for Xmas Eve 2011, the Swingarm, Wheels and Tank, just in time to start the rebuild over the Xmas Holidays.
Getting the sub-assemblies ready took some time and stress, sourcing the parts and re-furbishing the Swingarm, Wheels and Tank took around 6 weeks, approximately the time it took for the leg to feel better however replacing the Swingarm did make the let ache.
Xmas Eve and Xmas day the Swingarm was replaced!
Especially with the new Black Rear Wheel the Battle Scared Akrapovic Exhaust & HEL Brake lines the whole rear end does look very trick indeed.
The rest of the Xmas brake was spent rebuilding the Clip On’s. I must say it was a good Xmas.
The Accossato Q/A Throttle as a much Quicker Action than the Active Q/A Throttle, the Accossato throttle is a better throttle looks better works better and as a nicer feel to it. With its matching black grips and chunky design the Accossato Throttle does look trick.
Setting the brake lever was a pain - had to use some fuel pipe to connect the resovouir to the master cylinder - it was tight to make it all fit together and I needed a good length of hose so I courld fit it all to the bike.

Some of the Parts fitted

Swingarm
Wheels
Tank
{X2} Renthal Road Race Tube
Accossato Race Fuel Cap
Accossato Quick Action Throttle {Used by TAS Racing and in WSB}
GB Racing Universal Lower Chain Guard
GB Racing Crash Mushroom Kit
R&G Offset Cotton Reels
R&G Akrapovic Hexagonal Exhaust Protector
Motorex Dot 5.1 Brake Fluid.

SES Rearsets on order and should be fitted in the next couple of weeks.

What next?

I like this fairing - comes in different parts and therfore if one part of the bike as heavy damage {as in this case the very top of the fairing took a beating} I do not have to replace the whole fairing. It also as the advantage of coming in Black and therfore I hope I do not need to have a re-spray. Also it is the same company that TAS Racing use for their bikes so it should be good.

http://www.crcfairings.co.uk/suzuki-gsxr-600750-2008---2010-91-c.asp

And to support the fairing an SES Fairing Brace. {if it fits?}

:rotflmao: :rotflmao:
I keep him by the Battery Charger cause he is a K9  :giggle {as in Dr Who}

Dog is free of charge to a good home BUT he is expensive he likes:

Goose at Xmas
Sirloin Steak
Sausages {only from the Butcher}
Chicken {Korma}
Cheese but it has to be cut up in 1 cm squares or he sends it back.
Venison

and he drops hairs every where and I mean every where.

not more than 2 hours or he will rover charge it  :hide
:rotflmao: thats bad

Just fitted my SES Rearsets  :LOL
They do look nice.

So all the mechanics are done now  :clap
I have a rolling chasis and a running engine, everything you see {in the above pictures} is fixed and ready to go.

Next I need to sort out the Fairing {and I fancy the one that I posted a link to above} but it is expensive so it will be a couple of months before it is fitted ! So that is it for now, but I am pleased with progress to date and my deadline is the first week of May.

Looking good, do like the black. Did you have to change the swing arm because of damage from Portimao?

Unfortunately where the bobbins attach to the Swingarm I had some damage from Portimao.
When the Right Hand Bobbin caught the ground it took part of the Swingarm with it.
The part that the Bobbin screws into the Swingarm.
Therefore if I want to use a paddock stand {I do not like paddock stands that use cups} I needed to change the Swingarm.

Looking good, do like the black.

Thanks mate  :LOL

Fork me Lee you got eyes like a pìss house rat.

Your correct about the rearsets but they are the same height on the bike! It is how it is set up - one set lower than the other on the "plate" but that means it is the same height on the bike.

The next step – fitting the Bazzaz Z-FI TC System.

The Bazzaz Z-FI TC System and you ask what is it?

Designed in the States by Ammar Bazzaz, who worked for Yoshimura R&D for six years before setting up his own company. During that time he helped the Aussie Mat Mladin to his first three AMA Superbike Championship.

It is a Fuel Control Unit, Quick Shifter and Traction Control Unit all in one ECU.

For those that are interested here is a link.

http://bazzaz.net/

The system has had good reviews and I know it will improve my bike.

Only recommended for Track use the system is not too difficult to set up and comes with everything you need, Fuel Harness, Coil Harness, Quick Shifter and ECM, the software is simply downloaded from the WEB.

The system is plugged into the stock loom. The beauty of the system is that as long as you understand the bike it is simple enough that you do not have to be an electronics engineer to install it or use it.

The Traction Control monitors Crank speed, Gearbox and Throttle position, if the engine revs too fast i.e. wheel spinning it cuts the spark to the plugs and power is reduced.

Traction Control is only part of the story, the system also re-maps your bike and not just 4 injectors like the Power Commander system but all 8 – apparently it should produce a smooth power curve – but I will only know that once it is re-mapped and I am back on the Track.

Finally the Quick Shifter is supposed to be good as well.

Apart from re-mapping the Fuel the system it can also be used to map the Quick Shifter and Traction Control. It simply plugs into the Lap Top and from there you can adjust the Cut time for the Quick Shifter and you have full adjustment of the TC system.

With an aftermarket switch and light I can.

1.   Adjust the trim of the TC from off to  -5 to +5 of the setting within the system. I.e. I can turn it off and I have 10 levels of adjustment.
2.   Switch between two maps.
3.   A light will come on every time the TC activates so I can fine-tune the TC map.

The Bazzaz Z-FI TC System promise to be a great system.

In fact it is used in AMA,  in the past John Hopkins has used it in AMA Superbike Championship.

After my tumble I decided that Traction Control might be a good idea.

In the future I hope to get their Air/Fuel Module, which should allow me to re-map the bike without a Dyno!
