i've just typed a post and the fooking thing hasn't shown up
second time that's happened recently.
well here goes again.  :-\

i'll find the kitcar pics out

i also rebuilt a rs1600i back in the early nineties, full bare shell respray, uprated brakes and suspension (koni), the car looked totally standard from the outside but i put a fiesta turbo engine in it, mated up to a turbo unit from a s1 escort.
i sold the car as i lost interest and a couple of months later it was a feature car in one of the well known ford mags, fast ford, performance ford can't remember which one.

oH and Gaz,has to be the TVR

The fear of big servicing bills and even bigger repair bills scared me off. I will have to have one at some point, even if only for a few summer months  It'd have to be the 4.5 Lightweight though - I can't stand thinking "I've bought the 'diet' version!" of anything.

Gaz, go for the TVR, Sagaris maybe ????

A bit out of my price range unfortunately, but they are damn nice.

Superbikers - with great power comes great stupidity
Supermotoerers - with less power comes irresponsibility

regarding the sagaris, outside of the factory i was the 1st person to see 1 on the road (who actually knew what it was at least).when the rusian kid toook over the company,he came to our place to eat,and came in the 1st prototype sagaris.

thankfully,i'm not counting this as my claim to fame  :LOL although i did wangle a tour round the factory and a day testing a TVR  :clap

I used to have a SMART car

Great little car on the quick bends, paddle shift etc etc  :clap

having worked on a few TVR's i can safely say i wouldn't thank you for one.............maybe an original 3000M but nowt newer..............

had all sorts of XR2, XR2i, AX GT, 827's, Nova Sport's (proper ones), various Subaru turbo's (cant remember most).............as someone mentioned above though now more often drive my T5 transporter than the Subaru
just here for the FUN........

I think you've driven your fair share of performance cars Alyn
Agree about TVR's too kit car-ish, not reliable enough, and a complete liability driving on anything but dry tarmac.
I liked my Audi S2 but like Scoobies better, much more user friendly.

This was the same as my S2
