What do these figures tell us?
Overall sales are down.
Sports Bikes are in decline [this may be why some Manufactures have pulled the plug on MOTO GP i.e Kawasaki and Suzuki?]
Adventure Sports is a growing market.
Scooters are popular because they are a communting alternative to cars - they are cheap, easy to park and Motorcycle licence requirements are complex but all that's required to get on a moped (up to 50cc) or a scooter/motorcycle of up to 125cc is the successful completion of a one-day course called CBT.
Therefore Motorcycle Licence requirements are complex and that may well be a cause of people being put of bikes?
