some advice please folks
« on: July 11, 2012, 06:48:39 PM »
hi all, just joined the forum today but have used roadbikes for a while, anyway, i dont have a roadbike at the moment and to be honest i dont think i will again, i do however want to start doing two or three trackdays every year and am looking to you for advice on what to be looking for, im thinking a 600 would be best for me as i have no previous track experience, i dont have an endless supply of money either, dont really want to spend much more than 2000 on the bike, i am told that i would be best not to look at anything pre injection as they may be not so reliable? could some of you try to help me out on choices of bike and what else i will need to be doing trackdays? many thanks, davy

If you want to try track riding and dont have a bike, try the Ron Haslem race school, you get some track time and classroom sessions in between and you use their bikes. that will give you an idea if track riding is for you and it will be cheaper than shellig out £2k on a bike. It will also give you an invaluable lessen in track riding that you will be able to use in the future.

Oh and No Im not on commission. Just done the school and learnt a lot.

Good luck

Steve

Excellent idea

Check out some of the trackday organisers too - most rent out bikes and all the kit needed for the day.
