WTF ? Yeah, the coutry is financially shagged, we need to cut jobs, we need to put up VAT, we need to be really tough on ourselves here people of Britain. But while we're at it, lets spend a fortune of government/taxpayers money on investigating a f*cking football team. F*ck off. Tw@t. I wonder if he would be so keen for an investigation to take place if it had to be paid for out of his own pocket. Idiot

Non biking talk / Anyone in Ayelsbury, Bucks HP19 8XU
« on: June 28, 2010, 10:48:27 AM »
Hi all

Looking to see if anyone is able to help here. I remain in regular contact with the breeder of my Dobermann via facebook etc. He has just posted this up, wondering if anyone would be able to help ? Get out for a wee blast on the bike maybe ? Here's the story -

"Help Needed! We have one of our males doing their ZTP in Germany next weekend but the DV have now told me they need different papers from the KC. This is a big challenge to get them in time as the KC wont post them directly to Germany. Does anyone live near the KC offices (Ayelsbury, Bucks HP19 8XU) that would be willing to collect papers for us and post them directly to Germany to our friends address there?"

If anyone can help please reply to the thread or PM me and we can go from there. Thanks a lot folks !

Non biking talk / My laptop is BUGGERED ! ... hacked :(
« on: June 23, 2010, 10:13:43 AM »
Hi all

Well, it is with regret that must inform you all that my laptop is proper shagged. It pretens it's ok. Boots up fine (eventually) and all looks well. However, it will not let me open firefox or google chrome at all (tried reinstalling both), it just comes up that it can't find them  :-\

Internet Explorer opens fine .... BUT, when I perform a search on a search engine, then click on one of the results - I end up at a completely irrelevant spam site. I have done a bit of looking around and it would seem that my computer has been hacked, and getting rid of it will be almost impossible (well, for someone of my ability anyway) I have installed all sorts of security shìt, new firewall, new anti v, ad-aware etc, and spent around 8 hours scanning etc - I did find a few gremlins but obviously not the culprit, as I still have the same problem.

So, it looks like I will have to start saving my pennies for a replacement, as without being able to carry out internet searches, my laptop is as good as dead. RIP, thank you for 5 wonderful years of surfing  :icon_boohoo:

I wonder how many chavs have them already and are practising on cows/horses/sheep before taking to the streets  :yikes

How long before some arsehole runs about a primary school blinding/burning kids ?  :angryfire:

I was just about to say I wonder what possesses a manufacturer to produce something like this for sale to the public. Silly question I suppose ...  ::)  ££££££££

OK, so a little irresponsible perhaps, and a slap on the wrists yes, maybe even a modest fine .... but FFS come on, electronic tag ??? OMFG, I do despair of this countries legal system  :005_ssad:

They'd have gotten off lighter if they were young chavs selling pit bulls on a street corner, whilst riding a stolen crosser, whilst battering an old granny, whilst joy riding up a housing scheme at 100mph in a stolen minibus. Fookin legal system.... BOLLOCKS  :angryfire:

Non biking talk / Things to do in East Yorkshire
« on: March 31, 2010, 01:57:44 PM »
.... when it's pissing with rain and fooin snow  :giggle

Well, we are haeding off to a little place near Bridlington on Yorkshire for a family easter break.

We have complimentary use of the local health club/spa/pool through our holiday accommodation - but I'm wondering if anyone who knows the are or has been there themselves can suggest good places to visit with the kids ? During the day it's their holiday, so like to take 'em to lots of nice/interesting places. At nights it will be lots of nice fancy home cooked meals/tasty takeaways and plenty of wine/cider for the adults when the kids are in bed  :005_sbiggrin:

I was a bit let down by recent reviews of the Jorvik Viing centre, apparently it's taken a bit of a plunge - shame as I loved it as a kid  :005_ssad:

Suggestions welcome

Non biking talk / Music suggestions ? ... Jazz ???
« on: March 16, 2010, 07:49:08 PM »
Hi again peoples ...

OK, so kind of finding my love of music again. While I LOVE most of my old collection (everything from Enya to Korn  :-[  ... and everything in between) I find myself listening to Nora Jones much of the time, finding it relaxing and good to just doss about the house getting stuff done while it's playing. Thing is, I don't want to get to the stage where I've listened to the album to death. Can anyone suggest any similar artist ? Or anything else that's along similar lines, easy listening "wandering mind" type music  :LOL  I seem to have liked the odd Jazz track I've heard - though not the serious Jazz stuff that's just completely unmelodic and all over the place, doesn't make sense to me TBH.

Anyways, any suggestions ?

Can't wait to see Rent-a-gobs reply to this one (guess who ....  :rotflmao: ;) )

Non biking talk / Your first ever Record/Cassette/CD
« on: March 16, 2010, 06:16:55 PM »
Record - Metal Mickey  :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: ( I was very young  :-[ )

Cassette - Dire Straits, Brothers In Arms. Got this on my 12th birthday, with my first ever Sony Walkman

CD - Iron Maiden, Somewhere In Time. Got this when I bought my first CD player, which was a Panasonic Ghetto Blaster with an added set of active speakers. Wasn't long after this my parents turned the garage into a little pad for me  :LOL Incidentally, I still listen to this CD (it's quite dated mind) and the Ghetto Blaster is still going very strong, my cousin uses it in his flat now

Come on then, what's yours ???

Non biking talk / First decent try out of new telly ...
« on: March 16, 2010, 04:38:11 PM »
Hi all

Well, I got to put my new telly and BR home cinema to the test last night. Watched Gladiator (which I've seen before but still love it) ... and what can I say  :o :o Fook me ! Now I see what all of this hype is actually about !!

The viewing experience was magnificent. The "judder" which I had described seeing in the shops was non existant, possibly due to the BR player outputting 24p, with 24p compatible TV. What's good is, right at the start it had the same universal thingy that I'd seen in the shops, that looked very juddery and shite - not here !! It was smooth as hell

The picture quality, fantastic, utterly amazed  :clap  Battle scenes were something else with the cinema system.

Can't wait to see some more movies on BR now - have changed all the ones I can on my lovefilm account. Just thought I'd post up some of my positive findings, given I've been a bit of a moaning faced cnut recently  :LOL

Non biking talk / TV - black bars at sides ?
« on: March 13, 2010, 06:30:38 PM »
Hi all

As most will know I've just got myself a new telly and blu ray home cinema system blah blah blah ...

Anyways - sometimes on sky digital - there are big black bars at both sides of the screen, which annoying, but I've lived with it. However, I'm a bit annoyed that I've just bought my first BD's (gladiator and pinocchio) and have put pinoccio on for the kids. Was fine all through the shite before the feature, but now pinoccio's come on ... big fookin black bars at the side ! About 4-5 inches chopped off each side, what the fook was the point in buying a big fookin telly to chop half the screen off the picture !

Now, I've been in and checked the aspect ratio settings, constant 16:9 - not on auto or anything. So, WTF is going on ? Anyone got any ideas ?

Why the hell would all of the trailers and adverts on the disc be ok, then the film starts and it goes to fook ??

Non biking talk / LCD vs Plasma vs LED
« on: March 02, 2010, 05:45:43 PM »
Evening all  :005_sbiggrin:

Well, it's almost time for a new telly I fear. My JVC CRT is still going strong, but the mrs is slowly being drawn in by the flashy flat screens in the shops....

Thing is, it's so long since I bought a TV, that I'm completely out of touch with whats hot and whats not.

I understand that the 3 types of TV named above have different pros and cons, and would like to know what's the best thing to go for in todays market ?

Budget wise, dunno - £500-£700 maybe ? Size, no bigger than 42" I'd say, livingroom just aint big enough for anything bigger.

I don't have sky HD and don't plan to have it in the near future, if that makes any difference. Oh,a and I don't have a blu ray player either - I may get one in time but only when I can see the benefits for myself.

I'll also hopefully be able to afford some kind of home cinema system - but probs one without millions of the little speakers all over the place as I fookin hate wires all over the place. Not sure if you get wireless systems ??

Anyhoo, advice would be appreciated
